Also I called several stores at the end of oct to be told the same. Plus it's not available on line from Tesco direct.
I got a refurb one from Tesco Outlet Ebay shop a couple of weeks ago for £79.
You may be lucky to find a store with some stock left. Sounds like you've done well to find a store that can get you some stock. I'd take them up on the offer.
