I have commented on the Hercules thread about the liferaft stowage in the RAF C130K. The UK MS 26 and later MS 33 fitted to the UK a/c were larger than the US equivalents. This gave the servicing teams real headaches as shoehorning them into the spaces could be a difficult and protracted business.
It is a tribute to their expertise that we did not have more incidents.
When the MS 33 was produced for the stretched RAF 'K' I attended two demonstrations of it in operation. Both times it lay on the wing blowing like a beached whale. It was not reassuring and as far as I know there were no further demonstrations.
