You could be right but C-130 wings are easy to pop on/off and cost less than $10M for a pair
Possibly there would be a lot of damage to wing root area. 100kts overspeed on the flaps, if at the same time as some heavy elevator input, would have transmitted substantial torsion to the wing root.
