EK as its a career airline so unless you intend to retire in EK time spent there won't count towards anything back home.
I categorically disagree with the statement that EK is a career airline in its present form. Unless rostering practices change drastically, I have no fear whatsoever of predicting that not a single person joining today will still be at EK until the end of their career.
(I mean that in the traditional sense: "career" meaning flying until a retirement age such as 60 or 65.)
On the other hand, working for EK can - and already has, for many - have the effect of shortening one's career by means of the cost to ones health, marriage, sanity, etc.
Looked at in that light, I guess EK really still has the potential to be the last job of many people's careers.
