Why would it be a personal problem, if you don't mind me asking? Bare in mind that you will spend 8 months in NZ or 6/7 months in Phoenix, if you are worried about the time in the UK, for personal reasons, how will it be when you are on the other side of the planet? I'm sure you've thought about it, but just saying!

Returning to the specific subject, CTC don't mind guests at the weekends (as long as your housemates are happy) and it is up to you when you come and go from the accommodation. But it's a 9-5 commitment (for school hours-more including homework) during the week and you will need to be based near the training centre, be it Coventry or Nursling.

Oh, and it's like 6/7 months of groundschool in Nursling/Coventry, 8 months in NZ or 6/7 in the US, 2 months in Bournemouth and 3 weeks back at Nursling, living in Dibden right at the end.
I don't mind at all, it's because of my gf. As I live in Spain, I would have to move, not only during the training phase (which could be acceptable), but also for my first job. It would be a miracle that I could choose my destination, so that's quite a few years apart. She's thinking about moving together from the beginning, but is reluctant to do so if we can't usually see each other. NZ or US indeed add to this problem.

Of course, I understand this training requires lots of commitment and effort, and there's not much spare time (nearly zero during weekdays), but simply living together would help a lot.

I have one more question: what does going to NZ or the US depend on? Is all this the same for cadet schemes and MPL programmes (rather than independent ATPL)?

Thanks a lot for your help, Flaplesslanding, it's very useful
