Sorry to hear you're still suffering, ExXB :-(
Just as a further heads-up, it can sometimes take a while for a new modem (esp if it's a significant "upgrade", eg from ADSL to VDSL) to have its profile recognised and enabled.
They typically warn that this can take several hours, but I've had times where it took seconds or a couple of minutes, and other times it turned into an overnight epic.
Try to resist the temptation to help things along by cycling the power, or wiggling the cables, or... well, you get the idea
