Spent a couple of hours on the phone with the ISP (technical line only available Mon-Fri). We plugged in cables and removed them, did just about everything I had done previously.
Funny though I could no longer access the new Modems configuration (Safari error 'server not available').
She concluded there was a hardware problem and told me to return the modem for replacement.
So, the story continues.
