I don't disagree ruserious. Unfortunately it's a cultural issue within this Company that certain grades are completely ineffectual when it comes to decision making and are simply not empowered to take action. How many times do you have to go to SVP or DSVP level to get the desired results? It does make you wonder what exactly they are there for in the first place other than boost Costa's turnover.
As for the important stuff such as lack of crews, fatigue through poor roster planning, insufficient leave slots and DEC positions, I agree. We've known for years that the aircraft are coming so why is it a surprise all of a sudden. It smacks of incompetence. Dealing with these issues, issues which directly effect our quality of life, should without doubt be a priority. However, it's far easier to have deck chairs lined up neat and tidy than to plug a 40 foot gaping hole.
That would require accepting you have a hole in the first place, something he's never done!
