There is a demand again for first class into Nassau and obviously an upgraded experience for the other cabins as well !
The 787 9 series is also a possible choice but the ground engineers in Nassau have been trained up on the 777 recently
BA currently plan to reduce the frequency on the NAS to 4 x weekly for S16. BA currently operate 4 flights a week to GCM and 5 flights a week to NAS.

It is rumoured that BA plan to reduce the frequency further still during W16 to as little as 3 x weekly to both NAS and GCM when the 777 is added to the route and the route will possibly from the same date move LGW to join the other Caribbean destinations. Only a very small percentage of pax on the route connect at LHR with the majority of pax on this route begin and end there journey in the UK

Those who know about the BA flight to NAS are not saying. The B772 can operate into NAS, it was the shuttle to cayman which was more problematic. Depending on the day of the week the local BA engineer is being trained on either the B777 or the B787. First is not a priority on this route so I'd guess a B788 will ultimately be deployed. As it stands the B767 has had a further stay of execution until the end of 2016.
Work began at GCM recently to reinforce the runway, to allow a 777 to land there.
