I did that and got the helpful response "No DSL". No suggestions on how to fix that.
I do have a 'filter' on the DSL cable (where it's plugged into the wall) but it is ancient as well. The IP provided a new filter, but I didn't use it as it has the 'Swiss' telephone jack (unique I think) where I need the rj.
I'll see if I can get a new filter at an electronics store today with the right jack. Perhaps it is the old filter but ...
Oh, my new modem is not Wifi - I've got a Apple Airport Wifi in place and the two are connected via Ethernet.
