simply datalink...the word datalink also made me think of peer-to-peer networking, to overcome current satellite bandwidth cost, data could (theoretically) be transmitted from aircraft to aircraft. Frequencies suitable for line of sight, automated, buffered if there are "gaps". Aggregated into a composite picture, and made available to all.
