You did, you said the Belfast-Dublin line was busier than Cork-Dublin line.
When I talk about the Cork-Dublin line I`m not talking about that it is just demand between Cork and Dublin alone like the 13 flights a day that operated between Aer Arann and Ryanair at the height of the Celtic Tiger.
I`m also talking about the stations in between Cork and Dublin including connecting services at some of those stations with passengers from Limerick and Kerry.
Think about a train service from Belfast to Dublin through Dublin airport and continuing onto Cork via the Phoenix Park tunnel with stops at places like Kildare for Waterford feeder trains, Portarlington for Galway, Limerick Junction for Limerick and Mallow for Kerry trains...now that would be an integrated train service in Ireland and a lot busier too with pax to/from Dublin airport.
DART and Dublin commuter trains could run from Dundalk to Carlow or Wicklow.
The motorways improved road travel no end in Ireland, I wish the authorities could plan the railways in a similar long term vision.
