One aspect of this accident apparently not taken into account by the AAIB was that the captain had previously been the instructor of the co-pilot, during his more recent basic rotary training. There may have been a subtle cross-cockpit gradient; the CVR revealed that one of the pilots mentioned that he wasn't happy to depart in view of the conditions.
