I don't think it's such a mad idea. The 16g thing is not such a challenge when the weight is spread over a large area, again the biggest challenge might be the evacuation within the time limit, given that three quarters of the of the occupants will either be asleep, or trying to join the mile high club.


Think of the scene from "The Fifth Element" of the flight from earth to Flossten Paradise. All the passengers ended up in sleeping pods (& anaesthetised) for flight.


I'd be quite happy to use a reasonably sized pod coming back from the US or Canada, and if the Company downgrades our travel policy again, out to the Far East as well. All the pod needs to be is the same cross section of most carry on bags by about seven foot long. May be a bit of a challenge to hoover out, but hey ho, I'm sure that someone will come up with a disposable liner or a compulsory ten quid romper suit, whether or not it comes with a harp emblem or not, I leave to your imagination.
