I do NOT know, but I strongly suspect that this is yet another of those embedded, but disabled enhancements that Airbus will SELL to operators as a Value-Added Feature.
Its the same story with a lot of appliances, its cheaper to make a single specification than many differing ones. Computer printers are often identical from the bottom to top of the range, the cheaper ones have the more advanced features crippled to maintain the price differentiation
