Despite Ryanair being the main area of growth, they have also knocked out 3 existing routes (MAN,EDI,BRS) with other airlines and reduced the frequency and capacity of another, BHX. A great load of Transatlantic capacity has been gained, that's great for the airport and probably the most valuable traffic of the whole operation.

We need our UK connectivity back, and we need access to a 2nd hub, be it AMS, CDG, MAD or even IST would do. A few European bucket and spade routes are vital too.
In my opinion don't think any of above routes are viable and the fact no airline has come in on them probably proves the point (aer lingus and city jet butch tried CDG and failed miserably )- Shannon has plenty of bucket and spade routes and practically connected to every available sun spot in Spain - the fact nice And Poitiers have been pulled prob tells ya they have maybe too much sun choice - with knock and cork also well served with sun capacity and Dublin heaving with same there's a finite market for these type of routes and ryanairs reduction in capacity fr Both knock Shannon and cork in this regard obviously tells a tale!!
