Didn't the Canadians refuse EK daily slots in YYZ? Restrict them to 5 weekly or something?
Look at the stink kicked up by the whole Norwegian thing. There's nothing stopping the UK awarding fifth freedom to EK, but the economic costs might outweigh the benefits. Plus as was mentioned earlier, it only benefits those flying P2P to the big cities (NYC, LAX, MIA etc) that EK would likely launch.
EK A380s would blow the US3, TC and VS out of the water too in these markets. I honestly think in the long run it would be more harmful than positive.
