Thanet council and RiverOak will hold a series of meeting to discuss the possible compulsory purchase of the Manston airport site over the next thirty days.
George Yerrall, CEO RiverOak Aviation Associates said: "Both parties agree some serious, and confidential, talks will clarify any confusion and help iron out the difficulties to ensure a successful conclusion."
Chris Wells, Leader of Thanet District Council said "I have been calling for calm over recent weeks, and, along with George, hope the campaigners will now respect that request."

The statement issued jointly describes it a 'significant step forward' and hopes to avoid a repeat of 'misunderstandings' in recent weeks.
The two will update progress on negotiations in the next thirty days with statements on their websites.
The airport closed in May 2014 and has been given the name Stone Hill Park by owners Chris Musgrave and Trevor Cartner who aim to create a mixed use development on the site.
