This is a massive development and much success wished for Jet2.. However, surely the airline model now must fundamentally change. Given that there has been a huge seasonal factor with significant winter downtime with older aircraft that are lower cost, will this new order and associated cost drive a need for Jet2 to enter the business market?
Given Ryanair's scale and financial strength, clear they could withstand parking scores of aircraft across the winter... It too has sought out primary airports to reverse this situation, and given its growth path and expansion it can ensure the fleet is utilised significantly...
Or perhaps Jet2 are planning expansion outside of the UK? It would seem to me that their specific target market is package holidays and to some extent the city breaks piece...
