I think the article is slightly off now. Last I heard the plan was for other routes to get the A350 first, MAN gets the B77W off those routes to go daily, then, an eventual 2nd daily on the A350.
There are apparently now several routes ahead of us to get the A350, in no order they were Auckland, Barcelona, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Boston and Amsterdam amongst others.
