Beyond belief that with Qatar not getting exceptional loads to say the least that Etihad would jump in anyway despite this.
These are not commercial organisatons, they are instruments of state power. Genuinely, no offence but there is no commercial business case for Etihad and Emirates to both be serving that region, similarly, Qatar and Etihad exist to raise the profile of Abu Dhani and Qatar on the world stage, they're old style flag carriers. Loads are poor? Meh, we're loaded, give it time. Emirates less so, more comercial but still knee deep in politics.
Great news about Delta BUT something might give, I think AA JFK, UA 2 x EWR and DL JFK alongside UA ORD might be too much New York. The timings mean that we'd have AA / UA / DL / AC / EY all on the deck at once which is all the available parking without bussing? That's before we through in the UA ORD if it comes back.
