Fire Fighting Category Required CAT.OP.MPA.107

Dear fellow PPRuNers,

Could someone quote a regulation preventing European commercial operators from operating to aerodromes that do not provide the fire fighting category matching the aircraft used?

CAT.OP.MPA.107 only says aerodromes were adequate when they are equipped with the "necessary" emergency services. At first, intuition seemed to tell me the required fire fighting category was the one appropriate to the aircraft's dimensions as in Table 9-1 of ICAO Annex 14, Volume I. This table, however, is based on the "longest aeroplanes normally using" an aerodrome. In other words, the table provides a statistical requirement for aerodromes but does not preclude operations with larger aircraft that do not "normally" use the respective aerodrome.

Any thoughts?
