Ad Hoc Publishing - Roger Chesneau - R.I.P.

Roger Chesneau, long-time publisher (as Ad Hoc Publications) and designer of the "In the Cockpit" series of Fleet Arm Aircraft, died on the 1st August 2015 at Ipswich Hospital after a long illness.

Often written by retired F.A.A. pilots, with experience of that particular aircraft, the "In the cockpit" series covered such WW2 aircraft as the Swordfish, Seafire, Firefly and more recent types such as Attacker, Scimitar, Sea Hawk and Buccaneer S.1. All these titles were written either by or with contributions by experienced pilots, test pilots and engineers with great knowledge of the type and most titles are available today. Roger's expertise was recognised with honorary memberships to F.A.A. and R.A.F. aircrew associations stemming from his works.

Occasionally he was known to stray away from his favourite area to publish Pictorial Histories of RAF Wattisham and North Weald written by Dave Eade and Michael Doust's "Phantom Leader".

Not only a great friend to the UK Military Aviation Heritage he was a true gentleman and friend to those who had the honour of knowing him.

The funeral will take place at 2.pm on August 20th at Ringshall Church, Suffolk which is appropriately positioned some half-mile from the end of Wattisham's runway.
