Pilots working for Emirates or Etihad get all sort of allowances, top medical insurance, abundant accommodation allowance, school fees (2 to 4 kids depending on seniority) and discounts I could only dream of in restaurants, SPA's, gym, etc. Moreover a pilot friend of mine told me they also have a retirement fund paid by Emirates. Oh forgot, salaries are tax free.
In the private sectors lucky ones get similar treats or a neighbor of mine has a salary which compensates all the above.
Then if you want to convince me that there is a portion of residents that miss all the above, well yes. In my country as a matter of fact I know many that miss a job which in my view makes things even worse. Or not?
P.S. Forgot to mention that the government subsidized all infrastructures and services as long as the barrel could generate revenue which isn't in the last 16 months at least.
