I received the same email from McGinlay the other day. Below is a cut and paste of the whole email. I was screened last August as a NTR captain, given a start date and then the course was cancelled a few days later. I was told then that FR were concentrating on Type Rated applicants for the time being and that they would get back to me when FR had a NTR course.

Dear Ryanair Non-Rated Captain Applicant,

Our records indicate you applied for a non-rated captain position with Ryanair. As you may be aware, Ryanair are presently only hiring B737-rated captains.
However, we do have a way of getting you to Ryanair in as little as 12 months from now.

We are working to recruit non-rated captains for SunExpress in Turkey, who will provide a B737-rating at no upfront cost (Terms and conditions apply).
For many of you, the only requirements you did not have for Ryanair were the B737 rating and 500 hours PIC on type. You could achieve both of these with SunExpress and apply for Ryanair within 12 months from now. Ryanair are continuously expanding, and as sole recruiter for them we do know that the requirement for rated captains will continue on well into 2016.

If you are interested in a position with SunExpress please do let us know. There are commuting options available and we have already placed successful candidates with them who can provide feedback on the assessment process. If you have already applied for SunExpress or do not meet the criteria below please accept our apologies and disregard this email. Please remember that if you are intending to apply for Ryanair in the future you will need to meet their entry criteria, which does include having a valid EU / EEA Passport with the unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.

SunExpress Non-Rated captain Criteria

· A minimum of 4,000 flight hours total time
• A minimum of 500 hours in command as a Commander / Captain of B737 NG aircraft (rated)
• Min 1500 flight hours on aircraft in excess of 27000 kg MTOW
• Min 3 years airline pilot experience (starting with type rating endorsement date)
• JAA ATPL(A)
• ATPL (A) license issued in accordance with ICAO and JAR-FCL standards
• Class 1 medical certificate issued in accordance with ICAO and JAR-FCL standards
• ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4/5

I have attached an application form. Please complete and return this to me at your earliest convenience so that we can register your interest and discuss your application.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
