It just shows how poor the scriptwriting is in soap land - they are so desperate to keep ahead in the ratings wars that such 'high-drama' pieces as a helicopter crash are becoming more and more common.
Perhaps it is because the two most watched things on TV in UK are soaps and football - neither of which are exactly edifying spectacles - that we find ourselves wondering where this great 'underclass' of non-achieving individuals that seem to populate great swathes of this country have come from.
