Oddly enough ... IT! Who'd a thunkit?
After High School ... four years in the Army, six years in manufacturing engineering and management, and now going on four years in IT (QA and Customer Service Manager with some programming, still).
My PPL instructor was a former
VB/Access programmer and my Instrument/Comm instructor was in web development. Alot of IT folks in aviation. Could be - as some have written - that we are more likely to find PPrune and be more internet savvy, but in addition maybe the technical/fiddler type is attracted to the technical aspects of aviation combined with the shear FUN of it. I dunno? What I DO know is that I wanna get outa the cube and into the right-hand seat of a CRJ or a Jungle Jet. SOON!
