You might want to consider renters' insurance to cover you against loss or damage claims against you by the aircraft's insurers (the aircraft's insurance generally just indemnifies the owner and they can seek recovery of damages from the pilot). Avemco does this if you can provide a US address. You don't need to be US resident.

For the usual travel insurance coverage, Trafford's will extend cover to include training and flying at a reasonable price.
