This is not an unexpected response from the GCAA however a caring employer (in any industry) could choose to respond quite differently following an incident like Germany Wings. For example, acknowledging the increased stress that current high workloads are placing on their employees, offering open channels to assistance by professionals, not just peer volunteers. It's about recognising and acknowledging the problem that it has helped to create....not just endorsing a new punitive policy.
