Whether we keep on giving the USAF and USN the (tiny) hand we've given so far, it still remains true that 'boots on the ground' will be needed to do any serious damage to ISIL. The only 'boots' available in sufficient number in those parts are in Assad's army. You are not obliged to
like the allies you need (eg Stalin ?)
