Anyone else notice the lack of tyre marks behind the wreck??
With full load, slow speed and landing in soft sand with a fairly inclined uphill gradient, the wheels literally dig in on impact and the landing run sometimes comes down to less than ten feet. Yes, I am not exaggerating, I have landed once with a flamed out engine in a piston on freshly ploughed soft earth and the landing run/marks did not stretch beyond the point where the tail finally came to rest. Also, they are liable to get obliterated pretty fast in sand.
