How much flying time does 800lbs give you in the descent/maneouvering phase?
If one was careful with the power, you could get 45 minutes at 200 kts IAS low altitude. Where I live we have two large airports Wiley Post (KPWA) that has two runways jet capable and the other Will Roger’s (KOKC) which has three runways longer than 7,000 feet. They are 20 miles apart. So in good (5,000 and five mile or better) we could push the fuel. But when it was IMC, we bit the bullet and stopped coming in from the East Coast. If one was coming in from New York City, you had no choice, you stopped, it didn’t matter in the Jet Commander, you were not going to make it to KOKC non-stop from (KTEB)*.

But, from KDCA (Washington DC) to KOKC if the weather was good VMC in KOKC and the upper winds were less than 50 kts avg. headwind, you could make it non-stop. Now you had to get a quick clearance to altitude and then get up to FL41.0 as fast as possible. The you could fly constant Mach for the flight.

* KTEB is Teterboro, New Jersey, the business jet airpport for New York City.
