Mach Jump - looked in a few books and it did not say that, also, if you read in the landing technique it says approach with power but it does not say when to reduce it, when they say "power off" they could easily mean
after the roundout, certainly it is easier to get a better landing in that way, and
AFAIK the discussion was not talking about short field anyway.
