Flew for SQ many years ago on the B707, and found it then to be quite a pleasent company to work for...no complaints.
Ran into one of my former First Officers a couple of years ago (now a senior Captain), and he mentioned now that he cannot wait to retire....the whole company (and especially managements attitude and policies) have gone rapidly downhill within the last five years or so.
If they are not careful, Cathay (and some mainland Chinese airlines as well) might just roll over 'em like a giant cement truck.
