To be fair whilst "rail" IS clearly a priority issue running into the sidings, at least it's a start, the other parts of the axis in Labour run Gtr Manchester do at least seem to be mildly satisfied with what's on offer in other areas. So much so that Labour London is apoplectic with Labour Manchester ! The pressure does however need to be kept on !

Whilst Osborne may well keep tripping up, at least now we have a great big beating stick known as publicity with which to give him "a firm thrashing"(Old Etonian), this will happen everytime there is another Channel Tunnel, Olympic Village, Crossrail 1, Crossrail 2 and dare I suggest it Heathrow/Gatwick. The embarrassment will surely build ?

Talking of embarrassment it is high time somebody gave Labour London a good kicking as well.

It's no secret that Andy Burnham detests DevoMan and the Labour run administration in the Republic Of Mancunia BUT that is no reason to let his constituents down !

Manchester AMD specifically Manchester Airport has to be his priority, LHR a secondary concern.

Do Labour have a none to subtle hidden agenda as well ?

Same day as Manchester announces expansion of its terminals he makes a statement saying he is "in agreement" with expanding LHR , he is the MP for Leigh.....!

We then get a non to subtle tirade in The Spectator tearing Jim ONeill apart, he had the temerity to suggest "dual airport expansion" as a part of NP !

And then last week The Labour Party to a man were whipped into line to support LHR expansion, they did not have a clue what they were supporting other than an opportunistc attempt to give Cam a kicking in respect of Boris and Zac.

Utterly pathetic shower on both sides of the house !

Why is the support of MAN so peepoor on all sides, it is totally disproportionate to the size of the place ?

Ps I also wish they would stop quoting HS2 jargon as though this is about to deliver some kind of salvation. Maybe in 30 years and even that is debateable. It should not even be part of the current initiatives !
