I actually flew on a couple of the IL-76 beasts when they were transporting engines for AOG aircraft from LTN for my employer....an interesting experience to say the least!
On one flight I spent most of the time in the glazed nose next to the navigator. Although he had a shed-load of antique Russian navigation equipment whirring away, his pride and joy was a hand-held GPS!
