The rules changed back last August, so no longer can the easy route be completed.

Now you have to the attend the CTP course 30hrs ground school and 10hrs SIM (signed off by an appropriate school) before you can take the written.

If you completed the written before August last year, but haven't done the practical part, then it can still be done, but you'll need to seriously chase the licence verification with the FAA and CAA, plus get a move on for the TSA approval.

I suggest you read the latest FAR/AIM and speak to your FSI rep to see what can now be done, as the easiest time to do the checkride is on Recurrent on a MP type.
