The center strap, also known as a "anti submersion" belt,is very critical in a crash. It keeps your spine from collapsing in a high "G" impact.
Its not comfy, but....... when you wake in the morning or the middle of the night, you have no idea what the easter bunny has in store for you that day/night. Where it and appreciate it for what it will do for you.
