Bagso, as welcome as the recently announced investment in MAN is, at the end of the day it is mainly replacing what is there already, initially only providing around 5 million additional capacity by 2025. That is hardly setting the world alight and in no way comparable with the airports the BBC reference in their story.
There is plenty of airport development quietly going on around the UK, that the Beeb and other news agencies don't regard as news worthy, so I am sure you are not alone in your exasperation. At least the BBC is recognising aviation as an issue even if it is tucked away on its website and not headlining the six o'clock news (though I suspect that won't be the case tomorrow...).
One opportunity for you to tackle the BBC has just come to light...BBC Radio 4's 'Any Questions' on 10th July is coming from Manchester Airport (or "The Runway Visitor park, Altrincham" as the beeb have it on their website
