I am on Alderney at present and for the second time in a week all I can see is thick fog. Whilst some delays are undoubtedly aircraft tech related many (most?) are inevitably weather related.

Airlines (like any reasonably sized business) have good and bad 'departments'. The Operations part of GR seems to me to be far pretty good (and far above any other airline I have ever encountered). One day last week there was no flying into/ex ACI until 3pm but by mobilising all available aircraft (and pilots) they had recovered the situation by the evening. Well done guys!

The doubt I have is whether a fleet of (eventually) 3 Dorniers will enable GR to cope with bad weather delays.

Whether the Dorniers will prove to be more reliable (and cost effective) than the Trislanders remains to be seen; let us keep an open mind on these and other issues.
