Hopefully this will do well. It will be interesting to see how EI and FR respond, maybe more frequency and lower fares, good in the short term, but longer term maybe not. Unfortunately I don't travel to LON from cork, but if I did I'd happily support the route, it's succes is key to the future of the airport.
My concern is that if LCY fails, ORK will have three route failures out of four (assuming DUS is actually launched), both failures by non-based airlines, which sends a terrible signal. Over the years wizzAir and easyJet haven't done well at ORK either.
At the minute FR are offering a very erratic schedule to LPL, with no Friday flights in August. Fares are rock bottom on the other days too, at about £45 return. EI Regional must be minting on the MAN route, return fares are well over £150 return MAN-ORK-MAN frequently.
