I expect Bagso, like me, did read the article properly.
When we have flights to the US by AA, UA, DL, VS, TCX and TOM, to read in a Manchester newspaper that Dublin is a popular destination from MAN because DUB is a gateway to the US does tend to make one choke slightly on one's cornflakes if I may say so.
It's not that the statement is incorrect unfortunately, but if MAN is losing custom from its own direct services because of APD, US pre-clearance at DUB, fare structures or whatever, the comment rather adds salt to the wound. And for the uninitiated, it could be construed as DUB being a gateway because MAN doesn't have its own flights to the US.
