LOT
Tattbenj. Yes LOT operated scheduled services from MAN for many years from about 1980 IIRC, and for many years before that with summer charter flights. They used IL18s and Tu134s, then later B737s, and then later still Embraer 170s and 175s.
Like many of the East European old guard (CSA, Malev, Interflug etc) LOT struggled once the low cost carriers became established. In LOT's case they tried to compete by forming their own supposed low cost subsidiary called Central Wings which took over the MAN flights for a short time. That experiment failed and they dropped the MAN route, and not long after that Central Wings folded completely.
Not sure why LOT would think they could compete now when they couldn't back then - there is more competition to Poland out of MAN, LPL, DSA etc now than there ever was.
