Yes I did have a Falcon GT in Mendi mate but it was actually a GT Shaker Not a GTHO.
But you're right there was nowhere to drive it I only took it there because I was posted to Mendi by the Public Works Dept to work with the Army Engineering Unit who had come straight from Vietnam.
I had mates who were pilots in PNG including Mike Grant and Peter Arnold.
I remember we mounted a memorial plate in the Hagen Park Motel to Grouper I bet it is long gone now.
