All valid points but the retirement of the tri's has been on the cards for years. It's inexcusable that such an obviously impending problem was not planned meticulously in advance. Lets be fair, the tri's have hung around like a bad smell so they have had enough time on their hands!
HIAL managed to choose, order and take delivery of new equipment in a respectable amount of time. Lets not forget we are talking about the 'interim measure' (I think) of replacing 40 year old aircraft with 30 year old aircraft. What's the point of an interim measure if it takes a few years to implement? The whole thing is poor on so many levels.
