The only rational response is to avoid overtime as far as possible.
The exact opposite is true. Since we are being paid less (monthly pay/hours is less than productivity pay) it is cheaper for the company to pay a pilot overtime then to hire an additional pilot and pay them. LOWER the productivity pay threshold and it becomes even cheaper (More pilots THINK they get paid more, vs. actually getting paid more) and you get the whole reasoning behind the latest pay review.

It's just math people.
