Agree with EA, curency is maintained by your log book plus the fact that you have your BFR where you will shoot couple of approaches anyway.
The other thing to remember is that under the FAA System you can also do the approaches on an 'approved flight training device' - sorry MS Flight Sim wont count
- with an instructor present and count those towards your currency.
