I actually worked my numbers on 2500 pilots in long haul which is where I think we might be in ten years. Secondly what a pilot is paid is not what it costs the company. The rule of thumb in the community is that the cost of employing someone is 40/50% on top of their hourly rate. My own opinion is that 747/380 pilots should have sacrificed today some overtime to make this deal for future pilots better. For those who think I'm just another greedy senior pilot, it won't effect me il be long gone. I would like to see the next generation in Qantas have similar opportunities and life style as I did. I actually feel that I shouldn't vote on it as it won't effect me. Look very hard at this. Change was inevitable. It's your future look at this very very thoroughly. That's it.
