The hourly rate I believe is $300 an hour but there are no night credits or unplanned overtime. My numbers indicate a Capt will earn about $320,000 however they will fly more days and earn less money than present Capts doing the same trip. Be under no illusion the aim is within ten years to have every present long haul pilot flying on these pay rates. The saving to Qantas is massive. Back of an envelope figure $200 million a year.If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's a duck. Any way you look at it it's a B scale.
