Hmmm, top marks for the guys patching up the mess but that will not solve the problem.
Work is needed to improve the drainage. Local conditions vary but typically this involves contouring the field and/or deep mole draining to cut through to a pervious layer below the clay.
In some cases consolidating the surface with crushed stone or road planings (cheap, they may even pay you to take them) may help but the water still has to find a way out.
Any improvements will, of course, cost money and this is often hard to find.
